Is 9240 simply a longer 9040 staple?
No. The crown geometry differs, so the magazine and driver requirements can differ even when wire gauge is the same.
What should a cabinet sample prove?
Agree the relevant seating, breakthrough, splitting and retention checks with the component designer, including any contribution the back panel makes to the finished cabinet.
Application limits to check
- Do not interchange 9240 and 9040 on gauge alone.
- Do not present a general packaging application as a certified pallet or structural connection.
